Live illustration is a one of a kind experience. Joelle Monique creates bespoke fashion illustrations on-site, capturing each guest’s outfit, hair, and skin tones in her signature style. Each piece is a keepsake they will cherish forever.
The Style: Illustrations are faceless by default, with a focus on attire and personal style. Faces are available as an add-on.
What’s Included: Professional markers, a waterproof artist pen, acrylic paint markers, acid-free specialty paper, and protective sleeves for every piece.
Branded Paper Design: Take your keepsake to the next level with custom-designed paper, created in-house. Add your logo, event name, date, hashtag, or theme — printed directly on the specialty paper before illustrations begin. Perfect for corporate events, brand activations, weddings, and any celebratory occasion.
What You Provide: A table and chair. Joelle handles everything else and arrives 30 minutes early to set up.
How Events Are Priced
Hourly Rate + Material Fee + Travel Fees (if necessary)
- We consider factors including but not limited to: Travel, guest list size, custom requests, and accommodations.
- Bookings must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. We will accept rush requests and these will incur an additional fee.
- A non-refundable 50% deposit secures your date. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your event.
Booking Details
Minimum 2 hours, maximum 5 hours on site. We also offer options to complete unfinished guests in studio later if the client desires.
Average Sketches Per Hour
Ink Only: 12-16 guest sketches/hour
Partial Color (no skin tone): 10-14 guest sketches/hour
Full Color: 8-12 guest sketches/hour

Throughout the event, guests sign up, and we take their photo as reference to sketch from, so they may continue to mingle and enjoy the event. They are also more than welcome to watch as Joelle creates their sketch, as that is half the fun!

The venue / client will provide a sturdy table or desk (minimum 4 feet, rectangular is best) decorated as desired with a chair. We provide all art supplies, protective packaging for illustrations, a battery operated table light, and signage.
You are also able to add our branded paper as an upgrade — see above for details. -
Yes! We can provide branded paper as an add-on. The client can provide their graphic or we can assist with the design process and create something custom. Joelle has a background in web and graphic design.

Yes, live illustrations are great for any size event, large or small. If you are worried about managing the number of guests we can accommodate during the event, we can discuss a few creative options with you to meet your needs and have all guests illustrated.

On average each full color full-length sketch can take 5-10 minutes for one person depending on the complexity of outfit and if you book 3/4 length vs full length. We can adjust the level of detail in the illustrations in order to reduce the illustration time per guest, if you desire. Depending on your guest list size, not all guests may get drawn. Please keep in mind, not everyone will ask for a portrait as well. We do offer options to complete unfinished guests in studio later if the client desires.

This varies depending on the event and client. Joelle will be unable to complete illustrations outside of agreed upon booked timeframe unless negotiated otherwise with client.
For larger events: Any unfinished illustrations due to guest count can be completed later in Joelle’s studio. This option is available as an add-on.

Yes! Joelle is available to travel nationwide for live illustration events. After the initial consultation, a quote will be provided to include an all-inclusive travel rate.

Joelle or her assistant will take video / photo content for social media channels including but not limited to: Instagram and Tiktok with permission from Client in Event contract.

To secure your date, a non refundable first payment of 50% will be required. The remaining payment will be due 2 weeks prior to the date of the event. Please note that rates vary per event.
