Treat your guests to a unique experience by having them illustrated live at your event or brand activation! Live illustration is an one of a kind experience. Not only does it excite and entertain your guests, but it also memorable and serves as a keepsake they will cherish forever.

My sketch technique for live illustration is faceless in style (faces can be drawn as an add-on), with a focus on the guest’s attire, hair style, & skin tones. I use professional markers that dry instantly, a waterproof artist pen, and acrylic paint markers on your choice of acid-free specialty paper. All sketches are also inserted into a protective sleeve. I arrive early to set up and I bring all the equipment needed except the client will need to provide a table and chair.

To secure your date, a non refundable first payment of 50% will be required. The remaining payment will be due 2 weeks prior to the date of the event. Please note that rates vary per event.


How Events Are Priced

Hourly Rate + Material Fee + Travel Fees (if necessary)

- We consider factors including but not limited to: Travel, guest list size, custom requests, and accommodations.

- Bookings must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. We will accept rush requests and these will incur an additional fee.

- All payments and pending balances are due before the date of your event.


Average Sketches Per Hour

Throughout the event, guests sign up, and we take their photo as reference to sketch from, so they may continue to mingle and enjoy the event. They are also more than welcome to watch as Joelle creates their sketch, as that is half the fun!

You can book up to 5 hours of sketching time with a minimum of 2 hours. On average each full color full-length sketch can take 5-10 minutes for one person depending on the complexity of outfit. We can adjust the level of detail in the illustrations in order to reduce the illustration time per guest, if you desire. Depending on your guest list size, not all guests may get drawn. Please keep in mind, not everyone will ask for a portrait as well. We also offer options to complete unfinished guests in studio later if the client desires. See below for estimated timeframes:

Ink Only: 12-16 guest sketches/hour

Partial Color: 10-14 guest sketches/hour

Full Color: 8-12 guest sketches/hour

  • Guests will have a finished illustration by the end of event. They can choose to wait for their illustration or go enjoy the event and come back for their illustration. A reference photo will be taken at the beginning of the event.

  • The venue / client will provide a sturdy table or desk (minimum 4 feet, rectangular is best) decorated as desired with a chair. We provide all art supplies, protective packaging for illustrations, a battery operated table light, and signage.

    You are also able to purchase add-on’s such as a our branded paper.

  • Yes! We can provide branded paper as an add-on. The a client can provide their graphic or we can assist with the design process and create something custom. Joelle has a background in web and graphic design.

  • Yes, live illustrations are great for any size event, large or small. If you are worried about managing the number of guests we can accommodate during the event, we can discuss a few creative options with you to meet your needs and have all guests illustrated.

  • This varies depending on the event and client. Joelle will be unable to complete illustrations outside of agreed upon booked timeframe unless negotiated otherwise with client.

    For larger events: Any unfinished illustrations due to guest count can be completed later in Joelle’s studio. This option is available as an add-on.

  • Yes! Joelle Monique is available to travel to create unique art experiences and keepsakes for your guests. After the initial consultation, a quote will be pulled together to include an all inclusive travel fee.

  • Joelle or her assistant will take video / photo content for social media channels including but not limited to: Instagram and Tiktok with permission from Client in Event contract.
